South Georgia Island is located to the east of the bottom tip of South America. It was made famous by being the place Sir Ernest Shacklton sailed to to seek help for his stranded crew in 1915-16. It is now a sanctuary for its native and migratory wildlife. We visited in January 2024, and I can’t wait to go back and photograph more of its awe inspiring terrain.
